New Treatment Provides Hope for Those with Knee Pain

By Justin Pearce D.C. | Millpond Integrative Health and Wellness Center

New treatment provides hope for those with knee painDo you suffer from debilitating knee pain? It may be a small comfort to know you’re not alone. Across the U.S., millions of men and women suffer from the agony of knee pain. They, just like you, struggle to keep up with day-to-day activities, the kids and grandkids, and all the fun life has to offer.

Whether your knee pain is caused by arthritis, osteoarthritis, degenerative knee damage, damage to the ligaments, tissues or muscles of the knee; join instability; scar tissue; or other structural issues, there’s a new treatment that is giving many Americans hope.

And now this new treatment – Regenerative Cellular Therapy – is available in Lexington, at Millpond Integrative Health and Wellness Center.

“I see patients every day who have tried everything from pain medications to physical therapy, from hot and cold treatments to surgery only to find no relief,” said Justin Pearce, D.C., Millpond Wellness Center. “As they talk to me about their condition, the pain and frustration are evident,” he said.

Chronic knee pain can interfere with a person’s day-to-day activities, make it hard to work, to enjoy life or even to get a good night’s rest, he noted. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a real, lasting solution for chronic, debilitating knee pain. Medications just mask the symptoms, but don’t cure the problem. Therapy can strengthen the muscles and ligaments, but don’t provide a cure. In the end, many people with knee pain turn to surgery … but even that is no guarantee.

Now there is a new option, a non-surgical treatment called Regenerative Cellular Therapy and all it takes is one treatment. This safe and gentle therapy provides long-lasting relief and is amazingly simple. During the treatment, specially prepared amniotic stem cells are injected into the knee, where they immediately start to work. As these cells differentiate, grow and mature, they help repair damage, reduce inflammation, and encourage growth of other healing cells.

“I tell patients to think of it like a kick start to get your body into top healing performance,” Pearce said. “For most people, they will feel immediate relief from their knee pain, and will notice continued improvements in pain reduction, mobility, and range of motion following the treatment.”

Regenerative Cellular Therapy is being found to be a safer and more effective pain relief treatment than harsh prescription medications and surgeries, Pearce said. “It doesn’t just put a Band-Aid on the problem and walk away, it encourages your own body to start healing.” In fact, many patients experience a significant improvement, going from bone-on-bone to cartilage regrowth in just eight weeks.

“I am so excited to be able to bring this advanced care to patients in the Lexington area,” Pearce said. “It is amazing how quickly patients experience pain relief, are able to resume a more active life, and how their outlook improves.”
