It’s time to have some fun and get healthier, time for you.  You’ve made it through summer and the children are finally back in school. It won’t be long before everyone’s attention turns to Thanksgiving and then the hustle and bustle of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

You can take time for yourself, we’ll help!

We’d like to suggest that NOW is the perfect time. Soon the crisp air of autumn will beckon you to take a morning walk in the woods, plant flower bulbs for next spring, go kayaking, run a 5K, climb Natural Bridge … anything to get the blood flowing and the muscles pumping.

Spaulding Physical Therapy is an independent private practice offering physical therapy services in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and the surrounding communities. We believe that three things are fundamental to helping our patients: personalized therapy, optimized exercise, and integrated wellness. For us, personalized therapy means that we listen carefully as you describe your challenges; we perform a thorough assessment of your condition, including what you can do, what you cannot do, and what you want to do. At
Spaulding Physical Therapy your treatment plan will always be designed specifically for your needs and goals.

Once we have talked together and agree upon goals and how to achieve them, our friendly highly trained staff will work with you, encouraging and supporting you every step of the way. As you achieve milestones, we’ll celebrate together. Should you encounter obstacles, we will help you to overcome them. We will work with you as hard as you can go, but we will always stop when you say stop.

We believe that exercise should be optimized, helping you to move toward your goals. We understand that achieving balanced mobility and strength is something that must happen throughout the entire body, not just in one or two areas. Your program will be designed to support the strength and flexibility you already enjoy and to build those attributes in areas that are weak or injured.

We help you to achieve a positive mental attitude towards rehabilitation, lifestyle modification or exercise programs. Our integrated wellness approach includes education, motivation and skilled hands on modalities as well as training to help you work out at home.

The John F Barnes Method Of Myofascial Release: This is a safe, effective, hands-on technique of applying gentle, sustained pressure or tension to areas of the body that have restricted mobility. Properly performed, myofascial release can eliminate pain and restore range of motion. Dr. Leslyn H. Spaulding holds Expert Level MFR, and all our therapists are trained in the Barnes Method, one of the most highly respected and effective methods of myofascial release.

Massage Therapy: Massage therapy is one of the earliest healing practices. Research has shown massage therapy to lower blood pressure, improve range of motion, ease stress, anxiety, soothe aching muscles, and improve sleep. It’s also useful in addressing the symptoms of a number of illnesses, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, depression, and fibromyalgia.

Group Fitness Classes: One of the best ways to ensure continual progress toward your fitness goals is to schedule time for exercise, such as a group fitness class.
